Dreaming of Nepal? The absolute best time to visit is between October and March! Imagine crisp, clear skies and perfect weather for soaking in those breathtaking mountain views and exploring all the sights. If you prefer blooming flowers and a slightly warmer vibe, spring (March to May) is also beautiful. Just try to avoid the monsoon season from June to August, as heavy rains can lead to blocked roads and less-than-ideal sightseeing conditions.

Getting to Nepal from India is super straightforward, with options for every kind of traveler! You can hop on a direct flight from major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, or Varanasi straight to Kathmandu. Prefer a road trip? You can travel by road through popular border crossings like Sunauli, Raxaul, or Panitanki. Great news for Indian citizens: you don’t need a visa to enter Nepal! Just remember to carry your Aadhaar card or passport for identification.

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Kathmandu! After checking into your hotel, we’ll head straight to Thamel, the pulsating tourist heart of the city. It’s usually just a quick 20 to 30-minute ride from the airport.
##### Discovering Thamel: Kathmandu’s Vibrant Heart
Thamel has been a magnet for travelers since the 70s, and for good reason! Lose yourself in its narrow, winding lanes, bustling with unique shops, cozy cafes, and lively street musicians. This is the perfect spot to pick up some souvenirs like beautiful singing bowls, intricate handmade jewelry, or local art. And while you’re in Nepal, you absolutely MUST try the local delicacies – we highly recommend Momos, Sel Roti, and a refreshing Lassi for your lunch or evening snack!
Day 2 is dedicated to exploring the profound spiritual and cultural essence of Kathmandu.
##### Swayambhunath Stupa: The Iconic Monkey Temple
We kick off the day with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, famously known as the Monkey Temple, just 20 minutes from Thamel. Perched atop a hill, this ancient religious site offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Kathmandu Valley. Dating back over 2500 years, it’s one of Nepal’s oldest and most significant Buddhist sites, believed to have spontaneously emerged from a primordial lake. You’ll be charmed by playful monkeys, vibrant prayer flags dancing in the wind, and devotees spinning prayer wheels as they circumambulate the magnificent golden stupa.
##### Pashupatinath Temple: A Spiritual Journey
In the afternoon, we’ll head to Pashupatinath Temple, about 25 minutes away. This is one of the most sacred Hindu temples globally, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Built in the 5th century and later renovated by Malla Kings, this UNESCO World Heritage site sits gracefully along the Bagmati River. It’s a truly powerful place where you can respectfully witness traditional cremation rituals and deep spiritual practices.
##### Boudhanath Stupa: Majestic & Serene
